    Hello all 😉

So I have developed a website on my personal domain for a friend of mine. Now its time to move it from my domain to his. I just don’t really know how to go about it as re-creating this from scratch or even copy-pasting is way too much time consuming.

With all of the plugins I installed on my end to make his website look good, custom CSS to make it more responsive to adjusting the website for PCs, Tablets and Smartphones – This is a little daunting task for me.

His domain is all vanilla – fresh installation of WordPress without anything done to it.

Are there any plugins I can use? some tools to make the migration as seamless as possible?

Has anyone faced sth like that already?

I will be grateful for any feedback <3

Yes! There are several plugins and methods that make migrating your WordPress site easy without losing any data, plugins, or custom settings. Here are some options:

    1. All-in-One WP Migration (Recommended)
    2. Duplicator
    3. WPVivid
    4. UpdraftPlus (Backup & Restore)

Let me know if you have any query.

    Thank you.

Hi @harshpatel1412 and thanks for a reply!

I am wondering should I perform some kind of a ‘complete back up’ of the website as is now, just in case, before migration? If yes, how can I do that? and how to recover a website if something goes wrong?

    Hello @oskar1929 ,

Yes, you must take backup of your whole site before starting migration.

Once you install the plugin, there will be option to take backup your site.

You can easily take backup from that option.

If anything goes wrong you can restore that backup in the same plugin.

If the above method has not yet worked, here is an article on the subject: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/upgrade/migrating/
