iphone app Required xml-rpc methods are missing on server

    I am trying to add a self hosted site to the wordpress iphone app and get the error above. I ran the xlm-validation tool and get “congratulations! your site passed the first check.” I can log into the site with domain name/wp-admin. I have deactivated plugins and security settings. I have called hostgator who assures me there are no server side issue.

    I am using 6.7.1. I have replaced the xmlrpc.php file with a fresh copy. I have learned a lot about troubleshooting but am at a loss regarding what else to try. I only have a couple of strands of hair left:) Any other suggestions?

    I don’t usually respond to my posts but…

    then it started working. Not sure why? I still have a little hair.

    I’m glad it’s working now!

    If it’s intermittent, it could be a security plugin or other server security thing blocking specific calls to your site’s xmlrpc.php file.
