• So i deleted xampp and re downloaded because of a few issues and when i try going back on to my page and everything, i have to create everything from zero/i have to login. Im not sure what is going on but ill copy the text here:

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or that contact with the database server at localhost could not be established. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    • Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    • Are you sure you have typed the correct hostname?
    • Are you sure the database server is running?

If you are unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress support forums.

    Try Again

Im not sure what a database server is and thats probably what the problem im having is. If anyone can help i would appreciate it

  • XAMPP is a package of services with which you can use WordPress on your local computer for testing. One of the services is also a database service. What WordPress needs from you is access data to this database server and the database you have prepared so that WordPress can install itself.

Since your question is more clearly related to XAMPP than WordPress, I would recommend their community forum for questions: https://www.apachefriends.org/community.html
